April Ross

April Ross has won more than one Olympic gold medal. She is one of only a handful of female players of beach volleyball to be able to do so. Alix Klineman has become a brand new Olympian and is set to join her at Tokyo. Ross hopes to win more than her initial Olympic medal. At 39, this could be her last chance to achieve it. But she's confident top awards can be achieved. Ross stated via NBC Boston: "If we try our best, and even If we play our best I believe we can be able to win gold." "I'm also going to try some luck." Ross was born on the 22nd of October, 1982. She was raised in Costa Mesa California where she lived with her parents and her sister. Ross went on to play in a myriad of activities in Newport Harbor High School. While a prep student she was a participant in the indoor game of volleyball, as well as basketball and running track. But she clearly was an edge over the other players when it came to the second sport. As per her biography, during high school she was a volleyball player as an outside hitter (middle blocker) as well as a the setter (outside blocker). In recognition of her work she was awarded the 1999 Gatorade Circle of Champions National Player of the Year. The year 2000 was the time she was awarded her the Orange County Athlete of the year award for volleyball. Although Ross Klineman and Ross have been doing their thing from 2017 onward, the former was already an established player on the beach scene long before their pairing. Actually Ross has been a winner of several significant tournaments during her time along with her two teammates. One of them is a legend. Jennifer Kessy coached her from 2007 until the year 2013. Alongside Kessy Ross was a force in the world circuit, winning an international title in 2009. In 2012, the pair took silver in London's Olympics. They were defeated for the gold medal by the legendary team comprising Misty and Kerri Walsh (Jennings). It was fate that had them. Ross became Walsh Jennings' new partner after May-Treanor's retirement. They won the bronze medal in beach volleyball at Rio Olympics 2016. Ross played for the USC Trojans in college after graduating from the high school she attended. Ross's Trojans experience was remarkable. When she was a freshman in 2000 the Trojans' performance earned her the Pac-10 as well as NCAA the Freshman of the Year award. Additionally, she was one of the key players in helping the Trojans make the Final Four. She was devastated by a tragic incident in her sophomore year. However, she was able to make it an All-American again. Over the course of her two final years with the Trojans, she helped them win consecutive championships. In 2003-2004, she was named the best collegiate female volleyball player in the US through the Honda Sports Award. Ross was a student of the study of international relations in USC. Margie Ross, Ross' mother, never had the chance to watch her daughter become a beach volleyball superstar. As of 2001, when Ross was in her sophomore year studying at USC her mother passed away due to breast cancer. But, she will always hold her lost parent near and dear. Margie is a source of inspiration both in her personal life and at the beach.
